We have fully loaded iMAC computers that arrived over the summer. The lab was set up quickly, thanks to Mr. Menkin and a group of parent volunteers who helped. What’s Currently Happening?
Most of our classrooms have already got to work in the new lab to try out the new computers. At 2/3 grades, in the first project, the children got to take pictures of themselves using the in-built camera of the iMAC computer. They have used the photos to capture different emotions and will use Powerpoint to create slide shows regarding the same. At grade 4/5 and higher, our students are busy practicing their typing skills and using the Internet for research material. Fortunately, the iMAC’s will help our students learn audio, video and photo editing in a very intuitive manner. The need is to prepare our students with real world skills that will allow them to learn, research and author using the computer. Ask your child today about what he/she did in the computer lab. Interested in volunteering? Join us and be a part of an exciting experience! If you use computers as a tool in your professional life, you can come to the classrooms and talk about your profession. The children would love to listen to what you do apart from your “being” on the computer. You could help us maintain our lab with maintenance on a regular basis. We also need help to set up our K/1 lab. Or you could also volunteer to take your child's class to the computer lab on a weekly basis For more information, ask your Teacher or email Shubda Garani, EDS Computer Lab Coordinator: shubda_garani@yahoo.com Did You Know?
