Welcome Back Huskies!

Dear EDS Families,

I hope you have all had a wonderful summer!   We are eager to welcome all of you back to school later this month.

School begins on Tuesday, August 19th at 8:10am.   Parents are welcome to join us between 8:15 and 10:15am for a Welcome Back Coffee sponsored by our Parent Teacher Organization.     Class lists will be posted on Monday, August 18th by 5pm on the front windows of the office and will also be posted on the first day of school for your convenience. Middle school students will be posted by Advisory period and will receive their class schedules on the first day.  Please note that all class placements are tentative through the first 2 weeks of school as enrollment settles and we work to balance classes.

If for some reason your plans have changed, and you will not be attending EDS this year, please give us a call at 408-874-3500.

Summer Math Ideas

Students in the Moreland School District finished the year strong and are ready for a well-deserved summer. With end of the year tests and projects coming to a close we wanted to take time to provide mathematically inspired ideas for families to explore over the summer so that students continue to apply what they have learned this summer.   Read more...

Pertussis Information

All incoming 7th graders are required to have an updated Pertussis vaccine.  Students will not be scheduled into classes until one is received in the office.  Please click here for further information.

EDS Walk to School Continues

Hello EDS Walkers!  Click here  for a map where you will see the designated routes your Walk and Roll team have come up with for the safest, most convenient and most populated ways to get your blood pumping by walking to school.  The green route is the route we are going to pilot a “Walking School Bus” on for this year.  Eventually we hope to see “Walking School Buses” along all of the colored routes.  The EDS long-term goal is to increase the health of our Huskies and decrease the traffic in both the front and back parking lots and around the school. Meet a new friend or neighbor and join together in walking to school.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Anna Le at Anna.Le@sanjoseca.gov or Brenton Lee at brentonlee337@gmail.com.  And if you would like to be one of our school champions on this adventure, please join us at our next Walk and Roll meeting on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 9:30AM in the Staff Room. WALK ON!
